SIGNING THE CONTRACT
Before you and your student begin the process of determining what school to attend, congratulations are in order! The school will ask you and your student to sign the contract to attend their school. The term will be for one year. Since independent schools are self-governing, they can and will select their student body each year. And while you won't have to apply each year to the school, you and your student will be required to sign a renewal contract each year, if it is mutually agreed upon. The contract will have start and end dates for the school year. It will outline its expectations for your student and ask you both to agree on its terms. The Partner School will have both the student and the parent to sign the contract because the school acknowledges that the commitment will come not only from the student but from the family as well.
Because each school is different, they may include their financial aid offer in the admissions packet or in a separate letter. You should consider what your family can afford as you make your decision. And because offers are made to many students, you will want to follow the school's instructions and have the contract returned to them on or before their stated deadline.
Once your student has signed and committed to attend one of our Partner Schools s/he is a GEM! Congratulations!
